PURPOSE:To obtain an air electrode with high resistance against liquid leak as well as with dischargeability at a heavy load by attaching an oxygen gas selective permeable composite film, which is formed by interposing a porous film impregnated with perphloro compound between a pair of gas permeable films facing each other, closely to one of the faces of the electrode body. CONSTITUTION:A composite film in treble construction composed of a gas permeable film, a porous film (liquid) and another gas permeable film, in which the porous film in the middle is impregnated with perphloro compounds, is attached by pressure, for ex., to one of the faces of the electrode body to constitute an air electrode in an integrated construction. It is desirable that this electrode body is made in a porous metal having the electrochemical reducing function for oxygen gas as well as the electricity collecting function, and silver filter, porous Raney nickel metal plate, etc. are practicable for this purpose. The gas permeable film shall be preferably an oxygen gas selective permeable film consisting of polyurethane or poly carbonate etc. As perphloro compound, perphloro-tri-n-butylamine, perphloro-methyldecaryne, etc. are considered while, as porous film, a porous fluororesin film, a porous polycarbonate film, etc. are used. |
