PURPOSE:To prevent change of the winding tension caused by movement of the driving point, by locally enlarging the outside diameter of the drum, forming a projected part at its outside surface, and by substantially continuing this projection over the traversing groove in the circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:Thread 7 is spun by a spinning unit 1 and sent out by darwout rollers 5, 5' to get to the traversing drum 9. This drum 9 has a traversing groove 9a in its periphery and drives the cone 13 frictionally. At the circumferential surface of this drum 9, a projecting part 15 is formed circumferentially in such a way as getting over the traversing groove 9a to form continuance with its width W0 at 152.4mm., and 30-45mm. approx. in the case of traverse, to be located near the major diameter part of the winding cone, so that the mean winding tension from the beginning of winding to its finish will be suppressed. This height t shall be selected to a one which does not produce any shift of the driving point in a trapezoidal form of approx. 0.3mm., and its side inclination theta selected to 7 deg. or less in order to prevent unintentional fastening of the thread. Thus change in the winding tension owing to a shift of the driving point is prevented. |
