The switch holder is designed to be fixed vertically on an automobile dash-board without the need for an accurately cut opening. The switch unit itself is a conventional rocker action type enclosed in a plastics housing which has two elastically deformable side wings allowing it to be snap-fitted under a rim on the holder. The holder consists of two sections. One side is a flat-sided plate with a central opening for the passage of wires and four fixing holes for mounting screws. The plate is given rigidity by two gusset plates and its top surface has a groove with which slide lips of the cover section. Two enlargements at the ends of the lips snap around the corners of the groove on the fixing plate. The cover section has a curved-sided cowling which fits over the extremities of the fixing p late.
