PURPOSE:To fit a knob piece firmly and easily by inserting a mass of synthetic resin into a hollow projection formed on a partition plate for can and forming the mass of synthetic resin by heating from the surface and back of the partition plate. CONSTITUTION:A covered cylindrical hollow projection of the size large enough to provide a fitting hole of a knob piece 2 is formed by heating on one side of a thin partition plate for a can. A fitting hole of a knob piece 2 is provided on the projection, and at the same time, a spherical body 5 made of polyethylene is inserted into the projection. Then, the lower part of the projection is fitted to a convex part 9 of a lower die 8, and the thin plate 1 is placed on the lower die 8. Next, an upper die 10 is positioned on the upper side of the knob piece 2 and a caulking die 12 is lowered while heating the spherical body 5 by heating the curved face 9a of the lower die 8 and the curved face 12a of the upper die 10. The spherical body 5 is deformed to cover the annular stepped part of the knob piece 2, and the knob piece 2 is fixed to the thin plate 1. |
