In the case of a pre-amplifier for an infrared light remote control receiver for reception of pulse-code-modulated remote control signals which are transmitted with or without a carrier by means of infrared light, having a photodiode which is loaded by a dynamic load resistor, the operating point of the photodiode is shifted by changing the dynamic impedence and as a function of the amplitude of the received useful signal, in such a manner that the amplitudes of the individual pulses of the remote control command are constant.
