The invention relates to an X-ray examination device for the preparation of X-ray recordings in accordance with the slotted diaphragm recording process (Slot technique). In such X-ray examination devices, the X-ray film is protected against scattered radiation by a slotted diaphragm which is close to the film and travels therewith. In order to achieve protection against radiation in any position of the slotted diaphragm, the slotted diaphragm must have twice the width of the maximum film format; this leads to recording devices whose width is of undesired magnitude. To this end, the invention provides that a radiation-impermeable blind (22, 23) is secured in the adjustment direction on both sides without any gap to the slotted diaphragm (21) close to the film. In addition, a respective separate blind (22, 23) can be secured at both sides of the slotted diaphragm (21) close to the film, and the two ends of the two blinds can be connected to one another on the rear surface of the image base (18) with interposition of tension springs (29). An X-ray examination device according to the invention is especially suitable for application in X-ray diagnoses. <IMAGE>
