The radiological method is used for producing both linear and panoramic tomographic images using an apparatus consisting of a stationary stand (1) having a film cassette (4) supported in a moving manner and a radiation source (2) arranged in such a manner that the object to be photographed can be arranged between them and such that the X-ray beam passed through the object is always focused onto the film at the same angle. The radiation source (2) and the film cassette (4) are rotated through the magnitude of a predetermined angle about a common axis (7) while the object is being irradiated. The size of said angle is dependent on the selected presentation method and size, a correspondingly bounded X-ray beam being focused onto the object and the film being exposed during the rotation, to be precise in such a manner that, in the case of linear tomography, the complete region of the object to be presented and the film, which is held stationary during exposure, are exposed simultaneously. In the case of panoramic tomography, only a part of the region to be presented and the correspondingly, continuously transported film are exposed at one time. <IMAGE>
