The invention relates to a disc milling cutter for milling axles, crank shafts or the like having cartridges which can be inserted in an integral annular basic body, support blanking dies and are radially supported by their bases on at least one circular inside contact surface of the basic body. This is intended to achieve the object of attaining a high degree of positional accuracy of the cartridges, the end faces of which rest against one another, without having in this process to subject the bearing surfaces of the cartridges and of the basic body to a high degree of machining accuracy and without having to maintain the latter during the period of use. To achieve this, provision is made for the base (18) of the cartridges (5, 6, 8) to rest on the circular inside bearing surface(s) (3 and/or 4) of the basic body (1) only at or in the vicinity of the front and rear cartridge faces (14, 15). <IMAGE>
