[Also in Divisions A4 and H2] An improvement in the traverse track assembly claimed in Claims 5 to 7 or 10 or 11 of the parent Specification consists in the field generating means 136, Fig. 2, of the linear induction motor being located inside the hollow metal track 81 and electric supply conductors 108, 109, 110 are mounted on the inside of a front facing wall 86 of the track and insulated therefrom by electrical insulation 101. The conductors are engaged by pick-up conductors 141, 142, 143 in the adjacent side face of the power unit carrier body 121 made of plastics. The body houses the field coils 144 which interact with the rear wall 87 of the track. The body 121 has a neck 123 passing through a slot 83 in the track and the neck is connected with a wall portion 127 housing an iron core 129. The body is flexibly connected at 119 to a plastics hanger member 113 having a portion 114 running in a slot 112 in the track 81. The hanger is fastened at 111, 115 to a curtain 125.</p> |
