PURPOSE:To enable to easily obtain color image faithful to original image in coloring by a method wherein the depth of the color of ink adhered to a recording medium by jetting is detected and the output signal of a recording head driving circuit is controlled based upon said detected signal. CONSTITUTION:Inks with the color of yellow, magenta and cyan are respectively jetted from recording heads 3Y, 3M and 3C to the recording medium 2 wound onto a drum 1, which is rotated at constant speed. The inks 5 adhered on the recording medium 2 are illuminated by a light source 8 in order to detect its optical depth with a color depth detecting means 6. After that, the output signals of driving circuits 4Y, 4M and 4C, which drive the recording heads 3Y, 3M and 3C, are controlled by means of a color depth adjustment control circuit 7 based upon said detected signals and the image input signals obtained from the original image in order to adjust the optical depth of the inks to adhered to the recording medium 2 by discharging from the individual recording heads 3Y, 3M and 3C. |
