PURPOSE:To automatize the excavation of the ground and the discharge of excavated soil by a method in which a double structure ceiling is provided to the work chamber of a round caisson and in the ceiling, a compressed air chamber, an atomspheric pressure chamber, and a series of excavating and soil- discharging device such as chain conveyer with excavating buckets, air-tight soil discharger, etc., are provided. CONSTITUTION:A partition wall 6 is provided between upper and lower slabs 2 and 3 below a caisson 1 so as to form a compressed air chamber 7 in the center and an atmospheric pressure chamber 8 on the peripheral side. The vertical portion 11a of a chain conveyer 11 with an excavating bucket 16 is rotatably supported in the central opening 9, and the ground is excavated by turning circumferentially the horizontal portion 11b below the conveyer 11. The excavated soil and sand are delivered to a soil and sand depository yard 55 through a chute 38, a rotary conveyer 36, a belt conveyer 39, an air-tight soil discharger 40, and a bucket elevator 49 form the top of the conveyer 11. Thus, the working efficiency can be raised and the settlement of the caisson can be stably performed. |
