Gate valve arrangement for the tap-hole of containers for metal melts, in particular Siemens-Martin ovens, with runner bricks arranged in a side wall and defining a substantially horizontal tap spout and an outlet channel connected to the tap spout and formed by parts subject to wear such as inlet sleeve, base plate, sliding plate and outlet sleeve which are preferably made from refractory cement, characterised in that a pipe made from oxide ceramic material and provided with a longitudinal slot is inserted in the bore at least of the inlet sleeve.
