<p>PURPOSE:To realize the diagnosis for the operation of a reel driving sytem and the self-diagnosis for the confirmation of margin of a speed control part, by providing a function which drives at a speed higher than a prescribed level in consideration of the prescribed speed and the damping component of a magnetic tape device. CONSTITUTION:A register circuit CP holds the speed control data which is fed from a register circuit WK in a speed control mode and a high-speed control mode. The contents of the held data are fed to a capstan driving circuit MCTL via a multiplexer MPX and then supplied to a D/A converter. A presetting circuit PR realizes the change of speed and changes the preset value to the prescribed speed by a preset signal (a) when a counter circuit TM starts counting with a reel servo diagnosing margin signal (b). At the same time, the circuit PR performs a process to drive the reel at a speed higher than the prescribed level. For instance, the signal (b) is off and the preset value is set by the signal (a) for the reel driving system in case the switching of speed is carried out between a prescribed level and a higher level.</p> |
