PURPOSE:To make it possible to make supply and exhaust air on the high pressure stage side low pressure by providing a supply and exhaust air mechanism on each stage on which high and low pressure guide vanes are arranged and by providing a bypass line between an intermediate casing and a draft pipe provided on the low pressure side. CONSTITUTION:Supply and exhaust lines 12, 13 are provided together on each stage on which high and low pressure stage guide vanes 2, 8 are arranged, while a bypass pipe 14 inserting a bypass valve 15 between an intermediate casing 7 and a draft pipe 11 provided on the low pressure stage runner chamber 10 side is arranged. Upon supplying and exhausting air in each stage, the bypass valve 15 is opened and the portion of an intermediate casing on the high pressure stage side is communicated with the draw pipe 11 provided on the low pressure side, so that it is enabled to make the internal pressure stage side low pressure. Hereby, smooth exhaust air and water filling operations are provided, and further the injecting force of internal water at the time of exhaust air and water filling is reduced, enabling noise and vibrations, etc., to be considerably reduced. |
