PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body superior in repeated use bearing characteristics and durability by forming a photosensitive layer containing a specified bisazo pigment on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body has on the conductive substrate the layer containing one of the bisazo pigments represented by formulae I and II in which X is -O-, -S-, or the like; each of R1-R3 is H, alkyl, or the like, or any 2 of them may combine with each other to form a condensed ring; each of Y1 and Y2 is H, halogen, or the like; R4 is H, alkyl, or the like; A is a coupler residue necessary to form an azo pigment, for example, it is an aromatic or hetero ring capable of coupling with a diazonium salt and producing a pigment; and n is 0 or 1. |
