PURPOSE:To connect a wire electrode by providing a slitting in a guide pipe for guiding a wire electrode thereby guiding the wire electrode and inserting reliably through a work and a lower die. CONSTITUTION:A slitting 116A is formed in a guide pipe 116 for guiding a wire electrode 6. The wire electrode 6 is positioned by a wire positioning chip 115 then fed downwardly while being held by feed rollers 101, 102 then inserted through a guide pipe 116. An inserting head 17 will move downwardly to feed the electrode 6, furthermore insert the guide pipe 116 through a initial hole 4a of a work 4, while at the same time the electrode 6 is inserted reliably through a lower die 14 thus to perform the connection. The head 17 completed the connection will drop out the wire electrode 6 from the slitting 116a in the guide pipe 116 to return to the retrieval position while a work head 3 will be lowered and prepared for the following cutting work. |
