PURPOSE:To manufacture steel fiber reinforcements which are mingled in concrete or the like, by laminating plate materials such as, for example, scrap steel plates, having various thicknesses, one upon another, and by cutting end faces of the laminated steel plates with the use of a roll cutter. CONSTITUTION:Various scrap steel plates 1 produced in a rolling mill line are laminated one upon another, and the end face of the laminated steel plates 1 is cut with the use of a roll cutter 3 which is formed by laminating a suitable number of disc cutters 5. First, the cutter 3 is set at its rotational speed N and a feed speed S for feeding the cutter 3 in the direction of arrow (y), so that the cutter 3 has a suitable feed per one blade, corresponding to a desired thickness of the steel fiber reinforcements with respect to the laminated steel plates 1, thereby the end face of the laminated steel plates 1 is cut so that steel fiber reinforcements are formed. When the outward going step of the cutter 3 is completed, a cut-in value (t) is again set, and then the steel fiber reinforcements are formed in a return step in the reverse direction (y'). Such a reciprocating steps are repeated for sequentially cutting the end face of the laminated steel plates. |
