PURPOSE:To prepare L-arginine industrially and inexpensively, by cultivating a variant obtained by providing a strain belonging to the genus Corynebacterium, capable of producing L-arginine, with pyrimidine analogues resistance hereditarily. CONSTITUTION:A strain belonging to the genus Corynebacterium, capable of producing L-arginine, is provided with pyrimidine analogues resistance, to give a variant, which is used, or a strain belonging to the genus Corynebacterium, having pyrimidine analogues resistance, is provided with L-arginine producibility to give a variant, which is used. Resistance to 5-fluorouracil, 6-azauracil, 2- thiouracil, 6-propyl-2-thiouracil, 6-azauridine, 5-hydroxyuridine, etc. may be cited as the pyrimidine analogues resistance of the strain. |
