<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to open and close automatically an interrupting plate provided in an opening estabilishing communication between the inside and the outside of the building without resorting to a prime mover such as a motor by a method wherein an operating member made of a configuration storing alloy is made to act upon the interrupting member. CONSTITUTION:In case a loop-like spring treated at a temperature higher than Af (a reverse transformation terminating temperature) and storing its original configuration having both ends thereof formed substantially vertical is deformed at a temperature lower than Mf (a martensite transformation terminating temperature) so as to servo as the operating member 3, a window 3 is attached to the opening 12 in the vertical outer wall 11 of the building. In this case, the upper edge of the window 13 is rotatably supported by a support shaft 14 and a loop section 3a of the operating member 3 is wound around the support shaft 14 while both ends 3b and 3c of the member 3 are applied to the inner side surfaces of the center wall 11 and the window 13 adjacent the former. As a result, when the temperature inside the building exceeds a predetermined value, the window 13 is opened by the action of the operating member 3 returning to its original configuration stored by the member 3.</p> |
