PURPOSE:To prevent signal degradation due to disturbance of magnetization by chamfering corner parts of an auxiliary magnetic pole nearest to a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Protective members 12 are bonded to both faces of a main magnetic pole 11 for the purpose of avoiding the mechanical damage, and a coil 13 is wound around the main magnetic pole via protective members 12 between them, and corner parts of two return paths 14 nearest to a vertical magnetic recording medium 30 are R-chamfered 15. Because of this R- chamfering, the magnetic flux penetrates return paths with an approximately uniform magnetic flux density without being concentrated to corner parts of return paths 14 when the magnetic flux passes a high-permeability film 32 and returns to return paths 14 after emitted from a main magnetic pole 11 to magnetize a vertical magnetized film 31. Consequently, magnetization is not disturbed neither weakened by the magnetic flux concentrated to corner parts of return paths 14. |
