PURPOSE:To measure water contents safety and accurately, by a method wherein only the specified range is kept at a vacuum and zeolite is utilized as an absorbent in a water content measuring apparatus which evaporates water contents in a sample, and utilizes an absorbent to absorb water contents evaporated, and provides water contents based upon the increase of weight of the absorbent. CONSTITUTION:A sample 1 is put into an airtight sample vessel 2, and is absorbed by a vacuum pump 9 by operating cocks 3, 4 and 6. The water contents of the sample 1 is shifted to the vapor-phase, and is absorbed by an absorbing tube 7. The first water contents are measured by measuring the weight increase of the absorbing tube 7, when the water contents of the sample 1 is absorbed perfectly. Then, the vacuum of the system is set to 0.05-10mm.Hg, and zeolite NaAl is supplied as an absorbent in the absorbing tube 7. As zeolite does not absorb air but absorbs only the water contents, and besides, it has no problem on the environmental pollution, the water contents can be measured safely and accurately by the present invention. |
