PURPOSE:To detect the abnormal water level of a tank in an early time by measuring the rate of change with time in the input signal from a level detector which is installed with the tank and detects its water level, thereby detecting the presence or absence of abnormality in the water level. CONSTITUTION:A level detector 6 which detects the water level of a tank 3, an abnormality detector 7 which detects the presence or absence of the abnormality in the water level of the tank 3 by measuring the rate of change in the input signal from the detector 6 with time, and a display device 8 which displays the results of the device 7 are provided. The rates of a rise in the water level of the tank when an inlet valve 2 and an outlet valve 5 are held open and closed are set from the estimated rates of inflow and outflow per unit time determined beforehand, and a discriminating device 9 which discriminates the kinds of the abnormality in accordance with the fluctuations in said set values is provided. The signal thereof is inputted to the device 8. The water level of the tank 3 is determined by calculating the rate of change in the water level of the tank with time by the device 7 according to the output from the detector 6. |
