An anatomical pressure bandage contains a flexible, expandable cover containing a pair of or further chemical reagents forming a gas when mixed. On application the cover surrounds a body part, for example an injured leg or an injured arm and the chemical reagents are mixed by manually influencing the cover, whereupon they form a gas which inflates the cover and exerts a pressure on the body part. The pressure bandage can be used as a splint for fractured bones, as a compress for checking bleeding or as a treatment instrument for alleviating the symptoms of poisoning produced by a snake bite.
