PURPOSE:To attain the weight reduction and simplification of a printer by a method in which pulleys are pivotally supported on both ends of a shaft for feeding the carriage of a printing head, a belt laid on the pulleys, and a carriage is fixed to the belt. CONSTITUTION:Pulleys 4 and 10 are pivotally supported on both ends of a shaft 2 to feed a carriage 14 on which a printing head is mounted, a belt 19 is laid on the pulleys, and then the carriage 14 is fixed to the belt 19. Flat portions are formed in both end portions of the shaft 2, and a long hole 2b is formed in one of the flat portions to support the shaft 12 of the pulley 10 movably in the axial direction of the shaft 2. In this case, a tension regulating part consisting of L-shaped metal 7 with a hole 7a through which the saft 12 is to be thrust and a a screw 8 coupling with the hole 7a is preferably provided to the pulley on the long hole side. |
