PURPOSE:To form thin sheets of an uniform thickness and good quality by combining a pair of nozzle plates and spacer plates to form a slit for ejection of molten metal, and providing a mechanism for adjusting and fixing a slit clearance. CONSTITUTION:A primary nozzle 11 is buried in the bottom part of a furnace, and a slit 15 to serve as a flow passage for molten metal is formed of two sheets of opposed flat plate-like nozzle plates 13 and spacer plates 14 sandwiched by said plates, whereby a secondary nozzle 12 is formed. Both plates 13, 14 are coupled by means of bolts 16 and are so combined that the slit 15 has a prescribed clearance and width. The plates 13 are fixed to the nozzle 11 by the projections 18 of a supporting frame 17 provided on the outside circumferences thereof. Further, adjusting screws 19 are mounted near the central parts of the plates 13, and push springs 20 are provided near the same to adjust the plates 13 in the thickness direction and to fix and hold said plates near the central parts thereof. |
