PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording medium having a high heat sensitivity and good storage stability and capable of both recording by heating and the fixation of non-recording part by light irradiation by adding a hardly water- soluble diazonium salt with spacific anions, along with a coupler and a basic substance, to the heat-sensitive recording medium. CONSTITUTION:In a heat-sensitive recording medium containing a diazonium salt, a coupler (e.g., sodium 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene sulfonate, etc.), and a basic substance (e.g., urea, etc.), in which the diazonium salt is reacted with the coupler by heating for recording, said diazonium salt used includes hardly water- soluble or water-insoluble diazonium salts having anionic components (e.g., organoboron anions of the formulas II and III) of the formulaI[R1-R4 are each a (cyclo) alkyl, alkenyl, allyl, aryl, heterocyclic, or cyano]. |
