PURPOSE:To balance the primary moment of an engine, by locating each two cylinders respectively in a different distance between cylinder axes, arranging cylinders in a mutually neighboring side of the each two cylinders to an equal phase, while arranging primary inertia force of that with a longer distance between axes smaller than primary inertia force of the other. CONSTITUTION:Each primary inertia force F1, F2 is set in such a manner as to establish a relation F1/F2=L2/L1, by assuming L1 for a distance between cylinders 4a, 4b of the first crank 3a and its neighboring second crank 3b, A for a distance between cylinders 4b, 4c of the second crank 3b and its neighboring third crank 3c, L2 for a distance between cylinders 4c, 4d of the third crank 3c and its neighboring fourth crank 3d, while F1 for each primary inertia force of the first and second cranks 3a, 3b, and F2 for each primary inertia force of the third and fourth cranks 3c, 3d. In this way, the primary inertia force in the total rotary system and primary moment about the horizontal axis of a crankshaft 2 can be balanced. |
