PURPOSE:To allow a fender to be deformed in a longitudinal direction thereof because of energy produced due to shock with a ship to enable absorption of energy, by a method wherein a mian part of an oblong type rubber fender is divided in a longitudinal direction at every given lengths. CONSTITUTION:An oblong type rubber fender 1 consists of a shock collecting part 2, having a level surface, two shock support parts 3, which are formed such that they monolithically slope downward symmetrically, and an attaching part 4 whcih extends horizontally from the lower end of each shock support part 3 and is monolithically formed. A reinforcing iron plate 5 is embedded at the inside of each attaching part. Additionally, two crossing recesses 6, except the attaching part 4, are formed in an outer surface of a main body part 1a, consisting of the shock collecting part 2 and the shock support 3, at intervals in a longitudinal direction. This allows the fender to be deformed in a longitudinal direction and permits the absorption of energy produced by shock with a ship. |
