The loudspeaker has a substantially indeformable and convex thin membrane. Said membrane is connected to a drive unit which transforms the electric vibrations into mechanical vibrations. To improve the sound radiation and to suppress the perturbational influence of a molding on the sound quality of the loudspeaker, the membrane (30) extends over a solid angle of more than 180<o> and is made of a resilient material and is capable of vibrating. Further, the drive unit (32) which, during the mechanical vibrations, changes its dimensions at least along an oscillation direction (S), is fixed to the membrane between two regions (B) remote from the membrane and positioned in the oscillation direction. When an electric oscillation is applied to the drive unit (32), the distance between the regions (B) of the membrane varies, thereby generating forced oscillations on the membrane. |
