Regenerative intermediate points are accommodated in a transmission path between two terminal points for transmission (at a given clock rate) of digital information signals in one direction via a forward path and in the other direction via a return path. A system for the remote location of these intermediate points contains a transmitter (in one of the terminal points) for transmitting remote locating commands to the intermediate points via the forward path, carrier signals at the said clock rate being modulated in/detected in this transmitter with the aid of an amplitude modulator, and output signals of a command sequence generator and, furthermore, in each intermediate point, a loop circuit between the forward path and return path in a corresponding manner, having an associated control circuit which interacts with a detector for the presence of carrier signals in the forward path, for receiving remote locating commands. Without using addresses allocated to the intermediate points, a reliably acting control circuit of simple structure is obtained in such a remote locating system in that the command sequence generator is set up to supply command sequences which are formed by in each case one pulse series having at least one pulse, which pulses are transmitted by interrupting the carrier signals with the aid of the amplitude modulator. <IMAGE> |
