Extracting potable water from air - by compressing, expanding in vessel contg. cooled hollow plates, then warming plates to melt ice

The installation is intended for producing potable water by compressing air and passing this to an expansion vessel contg. hollow plates which are cooled by cooling tubes connected to a refrigeration unit. The water contained in the air is deposited as ice on the plates after which water at around 3 deg.C (and contg. anti-freeze) is pumped from a small tank through the hollow plates. The ice melts and the clean water collecting at the bottom of the vessel is drained into a storage tank. Used for extracting potable water from air by compression followed by expansion and cooling. The installation provides potable water in arid areas etc. and overcomes increasing purification problems expected in other areas due to the steadily increasing pollution of rivers and other natural water resources.
