<p>The system enables the consolidation of fissured rock, esp. where it is a menace to paths or tracks in mountainous regions, where heavy equipment and materials are not easily transported. Chisel-type wedging elements (4), with cementing material (5) added, are driven into gaps in the rock, esp. in fissures. The end of these elements is pref. cut away flush with the rock surface. They may be made of non-corroding, impact-resistant, slightly elastic material. Fibreglass (RTM) is suitable. Hard-setting adhesive can be used for -cementing. This secures pieces of rock from breaking away.</p> |
