Process for producing a building material of particularly low damping in the high-frequency range

For producing a building material, which has particularly low damping in the high-frequency range but is inexpensive, the constituents used are quartz sand, a binder which has low damping relative to high frequencies, such as, for example, polyurethane, and non-conductive fibres for increasing the strength. Such a building material can also be made in a foamed form in order to reduce the dielectric constant, for example for aerial facings. Another possible field of application concerns three-dimensional phased arrays, where this building material appears to be particularly suitable because of its low costs, the low damping and the high strength.
