Feed roller speed is adjusted to a preset torque or tension. The feed roller drive is at least one electric motor with infinitely variable speed corresponding to a preset torque, pref. an infinitely controllable induction, motor with squirrel cage rotor and intermediate field rotor. Pref. the torque of the feed roll motor is infinitely adjustable. Each feed roll is separately driven by such a motor. |
