1293377 Delustring glass fibre fabrics PLAUENER GARDINE VEB 10 Oct 1969 49810/69 Heading D1P Glass fibre fabrics are delustred and rendered non-slip by impregnating a desized glass fibre fabric with (1) an aqueous dispersion or solution containing silicic acid or a silicic aoid ester including a condensed silicic acid ester or (ii) a solution in an organic solvent of a silicon halide and in the case of (ii) subsequently washing with water. The aqueous dispersions (i) may also contain Werner complexes of Al or Cr with unsaturated carboxylic acids, e.g. methacrylic acid as binders, while pigments, stabilisers, e.g. polyglycol ether to reduce sedimentation, dispersions of polymers, e.g. polymers of acrylic or methacrylic acid esters, butadiene, acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate or vinyl chloride and silicon compounds, e.g. CH 2 =CH-Si-(OC 2 H 5 ) 3 or where R is hydrocarbonoxy. |
