1308383 Removal of nitrogen dioxide from gases BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 23 July 1970 [24 July 1969] 35675/70 Heading C1A NO 2 is selectively removed from a gas mixture (e.g. a nitric acid off-gas) containing up to 0À5% NO 2 by volume together with oxygen by contacting the mixture with CO in the presence of a Pt and/or Pd catalyst supported on a carrier of α-aluminium oxide and silicon dioxide in a weight ratio of from 2 : 98 to 95 : 5, the reaction temp. being within the area A<SP>1</SP>B<SP>1</SP>CD, the maximum temp. range of which is 130-425‹ C., to convert the NO 2 into NO by reaction with CO. |
