The invention relates to a bracing apparatus for sheet-metal parts, in particular pressed, stamped and/or forged cutlery parts, which are to be machined on their contour. The apparatus has at least one workpiece rest and at least one clamping device which presses the workpieces against said rest and has at leat one retaining part to be placed onto the workpieces. The object of the invention is to provide an apparatus, of the type described in the introduction, which, in a cost-effective manner, permits the contours of a multiplicity of stamped, pressed or forged workpieces to be machined correctly and simultaneously. The invention achieves this object in that the workpiece rest and/or the retaining part have, for the purpose of simultaneous bracing of a multiplicity of workpieces to be machined simultaneously, a corresponding number of spaced-apart individual grooves in which a workpiece is to be placed in an upended manner in each case. The grooves of the workpiece rest permit a "spaced apart block formation" of a multiplicity of identical workpieces. These can thus be aligned such that their contours are parallel and be machined on their edge in a single operation. <IMAGE>
