Interlocking portions of the plates may be stuck together. Copper bus strips 4 are located in grooves defined between side plates 2 and cross plates 3. For power distribution, a plug (Fig. 2, not shown) having spring contact fingers (7) is inserted into the housing, the contact fingers (7) then being rotated through 90 degrees to bring them into contact with bus strips 4. For current collection, a carrier comprising a plurality of interlocking plastics strips 6 is movably supported on wheels 5 in the housing, and is provided with brushes (not shown) which make contact with strips 4. The bus strips 4 and brushes may be omitted, the carrier being used as a movable support for a cable. |
