PURPOSE:To prevent a white stripe from being generated in accordance with the position of a partitioning plate and to prevent the deflection of a developer in a hopper when a developing device is carried, by constituting the developing device so that the partitioning plate provided in the hopper is separated from the surface of a sleeve when the development is performed. CONSTITUTION:During the operation of a developing device, a partitioning plate 4 is placed in the upper part of the developing device and is separated from the surface of a sleeve 2. When a handle 9 is pulled out sufficiently in the direction of an arrow to carry the device main body, a pulley 8a is rotated, and a pulley 8b having the same shaft as the pulley 8a is rotated also, and a wire 10 is pulled through a pulley 7 to move the partitioning plate 4 to a position 5 indicated by the dotted line. Consequently, even if the device main body is inclined when it is carried, a developer is prevented from being deflected to one side in the axial direction of the sleeve 2 and being scattered. When the device main body is made horizontal and the handle 9 is returned to the position indicated by the solid line, the partitioning plate 4 is returned to the position indicated by the solid line. |
