摘要 The machining device comprises a steep-taper tool (7), the taper shank (5) of which carries a coupling head (11) at the end, as well as a hollow work spindle (1) which can be rotatingly driven about its axis and is provided at the end with a taper socket (3) for the taper shank (5). A drawbar (9) axially displaceable in the work spindle (1) can be locked to the coupling head (11) and forms a coolant passage which is coaxial to the axis of rotation of the work spindle (1) and is connected to a likewise coaxial coolant passage (51) of the steep-taper tool (7). The steep-taper tool (7) has a pocket (49) which is axially open to the drawbar (9) and into which a pipe connection piece (47) for connecting the two coolant passages can be inserted. An annular groove (53) at the inner circumference of the pocket (49) encloses the pipe connection piece (47) and is connected to the outer space via at least one leakage passage (59) so that coolant running out during operation and upon removal can flow out without the taper socket (3) being contaminated. Arranged in each case in the pipe connection piece (47) and the pocket (49) are spring-loaded stop valves (79, 105) which close the coolant passages when the steep-taper tool (7) is removed. The stop valves (79, 105) are axially adjacent as close as possible so that the residual volume of coolant remaining between the valves is small. <IMAGE>
