In the standing cylindrical service-water storage tank (10), a number of pipe-coil heat exchangers (30) can be inserted one above another, the centre of curvature (31) of which has the same alignment as the figure axis (35) of the storage tank (10). In order to simplify the structure of the storage tank (10) and to be able better to adapt it to different capacity requirements, the cylindrical casing (11) of the storage tank (10) has a slot-like opening (15), the open cross-section of which is slightly greater than the external dimensions of the pipe coils (30) which are provided with inlet and outlet pipe pieces (32 and 33) which in the open state of the cover (20) can be screwed together with pipe pieces (22, 23) on the inside of the cover (20) to close the opening (15). The cover (20) thus forms the holder and connection for the heat-exchanger pipe coils (30). <IMAGE>
