Arranged in a cylindrical hole (2) in a housing (1) of a hydraulically and mechanically actuable disc brake is a brake piston (3) with a hydraulically actuable adjustment device. Arranged between the brake piston (3) and a mechanical actuating unit (4) is an adjusting spindle (5) with a non-self-locking thread (6), which is screwed to an adjusting nut (7) and is supported via a friction cone (15) in the direction of brake application on a friction surface (16) of the brake piston (3). A resilient driving device supported against the brake piston (3) presses the adjusting nut (7) against the friction surface (16) of the brake piston (3). A piston (30) is arranged in a hole (31) which passes through the end (14) of the brake piston (3). The piston (30) is secured against rotation and has a collar which comes into frictional and positive engagement with the adjusting nut (7) in the direction of brake application. <IMAGE>
