A toilet tablet comprises a soap of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid having predominantly C 10-20 and a C 6-28 alkene sulphonate, wherein the alkene sulphonate is present up to 50% by weight of the total active detergent in the tablet. Alkali metal soaps of tallow and nut oil are preferred and alkali metal alkene sulphonate with 11-16 C atoms. The alkene sulphonate may be present in 10-40% by weight of the tablet. A superfatting agent, such as the higher molecular weight monocarboxylic acids of the aliphatic series, may also be incorporated. Further desirable additives include emollients, lather modifiers, substances for imparting "slip", binders, colouring agents, pigments, optical brighteners, bactericides, fungicides, preservatives, perfume and sequestering agents. |
