A strip light fitting has the tubular lamp 16 extending between a pair of housings 12,14 mounted on a spine 10 and one of the housings (14) is slidable to release one end of the lamp for removal and replacement of the lamp. The slidable housing carries one part of a set of contact pins 22, 24, 26 and sockets 28, 30, 32 arranged so that before the lamp is free for removal, and before the person trying to remove the lamp can obtain access to any potentially electrically live part, the connections are separated by disengagement of the pins and sockets. <IMAGE> |
