An electromagnetic disc brake for rotating machines having a rotating brake disc (9), which is mounted on the machine shaft (8) and is arranged between two brake discs (6,7) which cannot rotate. In this arrangement, the brake disc (6) forms the armature, moving in the axial direction, of an electromagnet (A). The brake disc (6) is pressed by springs (20) against the brake disc (9), which rotates with the machine shaft, and a second fixed brake disc (7). The disc brake has an adjusting device for manual, infinitely variable adjustment of the air gap (a) which consists of adjusting nuts (13) which are axially fixed but are supported such that they can rotate in the magnet housing (4). The adjusting nuts (13) interact with the bolts (3) supporting the brake. The springs (20) acting on the brake disc (6) are arranged in recesses (19) in the adjusting nuts (13). <IMAGE> |
