1318053 Benzthiazylsulphenamides BAYER AG 4 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 37516/70 Heading C2C Substantially pure benzthiazyl-sulphenamide is obtained by treating a commercial grade benzthiazyl-sulphenamide, produced by oxidative condensation of 2-mercaptobenzthiazole with an amine, with a 10-50% (vol.) aqueous cyclohexylamine solution to extract impurities and recovering purified sulphenamide from the solution. Examples are given of the purification of N-cyclohexyl-S-benzthiazyl sulphenamide and N-t-butyl-S-benzthiazylyl sulphenamide. It is stated that the process is also applicable to sulphenamides obtained from 2-mercaptobenzthiazole and ethylamine, diethylamine, dimethylamine, piperidine and methylbutylamine. |
