<p>There is disclosed a fastener for watch bracelets and the like, comprising a lower element adapted to be attached to a first end of a bracelet and an upper element adapted to be attached to a second end of the bracelet. The upper and lower elements have free ends pivotally connected by a hinge to a connecting element. The connecting element, when the fastener is closed, lies between the upper and lower elements. At least the upper element is longer than the connecting element, such that when the fastener is closed, the hinge connecting the lower element and the connecting element clears the point of attachment of the upper element and the second end of the bracelet. The resulting fastener is flatter than known fasteners.</p> |
