摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the cooling efficiency of a lamp, prevent even a lamp of over 120W/cm from losing its transparency, and prevent any decrease of lamp life by making a cooling tube, in which a cooling liquid is circulated, in contact with part of the said lamp. CONSTITUTION:When a current is fed to a mercury lamp 11, ultraviolet-ray radiating light produced from the lamp 11 is transmitted by a cooling tube 15, and irradiated outside the device after being reflected by a reflecting plate 22. Here, a cooling liquid fed from a cooling-liquid inlet 20, after passing through an annular groove 19a, flows through a cooling-liquid circulating path 18, and flows through another annular groove 19b out of a cooling-liquid outlet 21. Therefore, the lamp 11 is cooled from its circumference by means of the cooling tube 15, and the top of the lamp 11 is cooled directly by the tube 15 since the top of the lamp 11 touches an inner tube 16 of the tube 15. As a result, heat discharged from the lamp 11 is removed efficiently, and any burning of the lamp 11 can be prevented.
