PURPOSE:To permit an iron core to be formed into a shape providing an excellent magnetic permeability, an easy manufacture and a high degree of freedom, and to enable an electromagnetic device to be more compact, by compression- molding a filamentous amorphous magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous magnetic material is formed into a filamentous shape having a width not larger than 10mu and a thickness not larger than 10mu, for example. Then, an enameled copper wire is crumpled into a ball and inserted into a container of a certain shape and is then compressed into the shape of the container, thereby to form an iron core shape having a high degree of freedom. Electromagnet yokes 4, 5 constituted by legs 41-43, 51-53, respectively, are bonded together at the leg parts 41, 51; 42, 52 and 43, 53 to reach completion. The iron loss is on the order of 1/4-1/5 of that in a silicon steel plate, so that the magnetic permeability is excellent. The compression molding permits an easy manufacture. The filamentous amorphous magnetic material can advantagenously be handled in the same manner for powder. Thereby, it is possible to form an iron core shape having a high degree of freedom, and an electromagnetic device can be made more compact. |
