MULTIPIPE TYPE HEAT EXCHANGER

PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the generation of a standing wave of vibration of an air column in the direction of the width of a pipe group within a trunk of the titled heat exchanger by a method wherein the opposing wall surfaces of the trunk having the pipe group interposed therebetween are not made parallel. CONSTITUTION:Wake flow vartex 9 of a fluid generates on the wake flow side of a single pipe 1A located in the region of the fluid flowing in the direction of the arrow within the trunk 2 of the heat exchanger. An elastic wave generating from the point F as one of the vartex 9 leaves away from the point F every time when the elastic wave reflects repeatedly on the opposing inner walls of the trunk 2 and does not come back to the point F because the walls are not parallel. As a consequence, the problem of resonance of air columns does not arise in principle. The above-mentioned phenomenon takes place in the quite same manner with respect to the pipe group and therefore, the occurence of the air column resonance problem can be avoided.
